IndiaHelp गोपनीयता नीति / Privacy Policy under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP).
Data Fiduciary
IndiaHelp ("we", "our") is the data fiduciary for personal data processed through the IndiaHelp website and Dost browser companion.
What We Collect
Voluntarily provided personal data: name, date of birth, mobile number, email, address, Aadhaar (last 4 digits only), PAN, bank details, caste, income, and land records. We do not collect data from government portal pages beyond what you explicitly save to your profile.
Where Data Is Stored
Dost stores profile data on your device (chrome.storage.local). PAN and bank account numbers are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key unique to your installation. When you sign in with Google, profile data may be synced to IndiaHelp servers solely to restore your profile across devices. We do not sell or rent your data.
Basis for Processing
We process your data only with your explicit consent — granted when you accept the privacy notice during onboarding or continue using IndiaHelp after reading this policy.
Purpose of Use
To assist you in filling government portal forms and to provide related IndiaHelp services. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
Data Sharing
Your data is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing. We do not transfer data outside India in v1. Government portal submissions are made directly by you; Dost fills forms locally on your device and does not transmit form contents to IndiaHelp servers.
Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023, Sections 11–14)
• Access: view your data anytime in the Profile tab (Dost) or profile page (website). • Correction: edit any field in your profile. • Erasure: delete all data from Dost Settings > "Delete all my data", or request deletion of server-side copies when a contact channel is available on the IndiaHelp website. • Grievance: raise privacy concerns with us when a contact channel is published on the IndiaHelp website.
Retention
On-device data persists until you delete it or uninstall Dost. Server-side profile copies are deleted when you request erasure or close your account.
Compliance
This policy complies with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We will update this page when our practices change; material changes will be communicated in-product.
